Eat. Sleep. Repeat. (anyone else?)

untitled design-3We’ve reached Day Number: I Have No Idea in this whole lockdown mess. And let me just say, staying at home and doing nothing but YouTube and watching movies sounds amazing theoretically, but in actuality it really, really sucks. ☹️

I’m not sure what it is, but I haven’t lived up to a SINGLE goal of mine. Every night I make the intention to wake up bright and early, but I end up snoozing past 1 PM easily. That isn’t to say I haven’t woken up early at all, but it varies extremely. To highlight this, I have a graph which perfectly illustrates my circadian rhythm. Be warned, it involves A Level Chemistry. 😱

Here’s a little sneak peak of A Level Chemistry, should any of you to choose to study it.

Then I spend my days washing the dishes, or cleaning up the rooms, maybe some cooking, and eating of course! Any other spare time I use on WordPress or doing something on my phone that doesn’t require Wifi. Did I mention? Our Wifi has been acting up these days. My siblings and I successfully used up 150 GB of data in a mere two weeks.

(Spoiler alert: Mom and Abbu were not happy campers about this) 😳

Depressing, right?

img_7594

I’m not entirely sure how to get myself to do something to be honest. While my siblings are taking their online classes, I have none. I’m waiting for my final results to come out in August, so that I can start applying for university. Not to mention I can’t meet up with friends, get out of the house, take an internship, or even get a job. I tried to volunteer at a hospital, but they said you had to be 18 years and older. Bummer.

Until then, it’s a waiting game for me.

That’s not to say I’m not grateful! I’m immensely grateful I even HAVE the luxury to stay home. All I’m saying is that it’s getting a bit repetitive and tedious.

So why this blog post? I’m hoping that by telling over 300 people (did we reach 300 already?!! <3) that I’ve become somewhat of a lazy bum, it will motivate me to stop being the said lazy bum. You getting me so far? I know it’s okay to be feeling like this, especially during a worldwide pandemic, but it seems to be taking a toll on me.

I’ve always been an outdoorsy, extrovert, workaholic type personality. Suddenly being hit with nothing significant to do is a complete 180! I feel almost guilty for staying at home, when I could be out somewhere volunteering. Or inventing the Covid-19 vaccine. Or developing a rapid test, that’s 100% efficient.

But maybe that’s just me? The whole gist of this post was to kinda ramble up my thoughts here. And to make sure anyone else who hasn’t been exactly productive during this lockdown knows they aren’t alone.💕  img_7597

In short, I’m feeling useless staying at home, but I also know it’s necessary. Oh, and I also need to fix my daily routine up significantly. I’m hoping that this post will be able to do just that.

Enough about me though. I’m sure you’re tired anyways! How have you been coping? Is anyone else feeling like I am?

your fave (you just don’t know it yet),

ayesha ❤️

Sure thing! Mind sending me a link to your blog? When I click your name it says your blog doesn’t exist 🤔

    1. Aww that’s so sweet of you to say! I try to post when I’m free, roughly once every week or two weeks 😅 I’m a bit preoccupied these days, but I’ll get a post out soon iA 💕

  1. The body gets efficient at what it does repeatedly, this includes the times it is asleep.

Staying up late on the weekends and going to sleep earlier on weekdays is equivalent to crossing time zones every week!

No wonder Mondays get a bad rap 🤔

Just 2 hours staying up later is equivalent to jetlag of 2 time zones.

Quality is vital, and quality comes from the body becoming efficient, and what it becomes efficient at is what is repeated ROUTINELY.

My sleep has improved immensely after proper wind down routines before sleep (e.g. blocking out blue light, no food/exercise near bed, cool and quiet room, 2 hours or so of calming activities (i.e. low stimulation, TV is stimulating! Plus blue light heavy!), etc.
I’ve verified thos as measured by one of the best sleep trackers, the Oura ring. Considerably deeper sleep and more REM sleep. Efficiency % improved as well.

  3. I think many of us feel unmotivated. I know I sure felt that way for at least two weeks! But, somehow, something changed in me. I think I got angry. One of the stages of grief, if that makes sense. And I restarted my diet and exercise routine—about the only thing I CAN control! Ha!
Oh, and we supposedly used 100GB of internet in 13 days too! ❤️😉

  4. The first week of quarantine I was up at 6am, exercising for half an hour every morning and generally trying to be productive. Now, I’m sleeping till late and eating sooo many crisps 😂😂😂

    Really relatable post 🙃

And girl, I feel you on a spiritual level with eating too much junk food 😂 I’ve realized that even if I sleep at 9 PM or 6 AM, I still wake up at 2 PM! What’s a girl gotta do?!? 😛
      Sending my love, always! ❤

  5. Don’t worry about not inventing a cure for COVID-19.

  7. I have also noticed I’m not nearly as productive during this extended stay at home–and I’m an indoorsy introvert! It’s weird. I wonder if just having our routines disrupted so severely is causing a wide-spread slump? 🤔

  8. I know this feeling all too well. Everyday, I tell myself that I’ll go to sleep early but I end up staying late. Like today! And I sleep in on the mornings. Well today’s a goner. There’s always tomorrow! Thanks to my unlimited Wi-Fi, I haven’t had any problems. Touchwood! I would have gone mad otherwise.

    1. Tell me about it! That’s right, there is always tomorrow! 😂 Don’t be too hard on yourself, after all, this is a PANDEMIC! But it wouldn’t hurt to wake up just a little bit earlier 🤔😂
Lucky you with unlimited WiFi!! I’m so jealous haha!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I love conversing with my readers!
Stay safe! And I’m sending you loads of love!! ♥️

      1. Nope it wouldn’t hurt. But once this is over, I’ll have to go back to waking up early to go to work. So I better start practicing now. The month’s coming to a close, so that means your WiFi quota will be up for grabs again. Thank you for visiting my blog too. 😄 I’m really enjoying your posts. Do keep writing. Stay safe. Lots of love to you too. ♥️

    1. YES you are right Mashallah 😱😱 I didn’t think anyone would pick up on that! Isn’t analytical chemistry awful??!? Infra red is okay, but all the other graphs were horrendous! I’m so happy our exams were cancelled because I didn’t want to sit and study all that 😂😂
Ramadan Mubarak to you too ♥️ Of course I’ll keep you and your family in my prayers! Suhoor is in a few hours! Better start preparing 👀😂

      2. Hehe yes, I am Muslim! Some people can automatically assume from my name 😛 Ramadan will be different this year for sure, with no Iftar parties or taraweeh at the mosque! Oh well!
And yes, you two must really know how to live! I’ll follow your examples! 😛 ❤

      3. Yes it is sad that we cannot have taraweeh prayers at the mosque but I’m sure that Allah will sort this out in the end
Allah almighty is always merciful to us

  12. I’ve been waking up late too! 🙌 My sleeping is all over the place and I can’t seem to get a hold of it. I think it definitely works to put out how you’re feeling, like this, so that it will do a 360 and switch over. I wrote a post about all of the things I’ve been up to in isolation but since then I’ve gotten an infection and been able to do none of it 😂 so yeah, say you want something and the opposite will come to you! Take care, wishing you all of the best during this time! ✨💕

Say something and the opposite comes?! Alrighty I'll start chanting I want to wake up at 1 PM, so hopefully I wake up earlier 😂😂
Hang in there girl! We got this!!💪
